The Operations Audit is a close-look diagnostic — not a generic checklist or a best-practices review. It examines how your business actually runs: how decisions get made, where execution breaks down, where the founder is still the bottleneck, and whether the operation is structurally ready to scale.
It ends with a written report: a scored picture of your operational health, the top constraints ranked by impact, a cost-of-inaction estimate, and a clear recommendation for what to do next.
Each dimension is scored 1–10. A total below 30/60 typically means it's not safe to scale yet.
1. Founder Dependency
How many decisions, escalations, and execution areas still require the founder? High dependency is the most common growth ceiling at this stage.
2. Team & Role Scalability
Do team members own outcomes or just tasks? Is the team structure able to absorb more volume, or does growth amplify variability?
3. Systems & Data Maturity
How is operational data captured and used? Fragmented data makes it impossible to diagnose or prevent leakage at scale — this is a visibility problem, not a tech problem.
4. Execution & Communication Cadence
Is there a weekly operating rhythm? Numbers reviewed regularly? A meeting structure that keeps the team aligned without the founder as the connective tissue?
5. Revenue & Margin Health
Are current unit economics viable? What threatens margins under growth pressure — renewal failure, coordination overhead, delivery quality drops?
6. Scale Readiness
Given the above scores, is it actually safe to scale right now? The audit names this plainly — because scaling an unprepared operation produces worse outcomes than fixing foundations first.
